Big Brother

I like the babies sometimes and mostly Carson. He doesn't cry as much.
Being silly with Carson.

All together. Jaxson is doing very well with the big transition. I couldn't be more proud of my big boy. I'm amazed at how big he is too. I thought he was still my baby until the babies came and then I realized how big he really is. In the beginning he really only liked Carson, we would try to give him Addison and he would push her away.

Now almost three weeks later he seems to like them both. At night before bed, he has to kiss the babies two or three time. At first, we would take him out of his crib and out to the babies and then put in back in his crib. Then we wised up and brought the babies to him. Our backs are grateful. He is much heavier these days.

We do love to sleep

This is how we like to sleep, right next to each other. When one leaves for feeds or diaper changes the other knows the other is gone. It is a little strange, but I guess they've been with each other since the beginning.

When we are not swaddled to sleep our hands are always above our heads. This is how our Aunt DeDe sleeps too. Must be in the genes.

Mama and her babies.

Maybe not the most flattering picture, but Jaxson just wanted to be close by me. I'm starting to believe that he senses there is going to be a big change. He has been acting up all week long. Sadly to say being as pregnant as I am, I am not the most patient these days. Poor kid.

Still laughing.

Lets Go Huntn'

Jaxson loves to play with the vacuum cleaner attachments. Tyson captured the moment perfectly and he looks like he's going to go hunt. So cute!

The Kid Who Can't Catch A Break

We were visiting the Bartlett's, who just had a new baby, when Jaxson climbed up on a chair on the back porch. The chair was far enough away from the stucco wall that when he pushed on the chair back his face and hands scrapped down the wall. Tyson felt bad because Jaxson was saying up up up, but he didn't lift him up so he found his own way.

Before mom ripped off the bandage. His head was still bleeding and the cut was not clotting so we needed to us a butterfly bandage. After switching the bandage the bleeding stopped. I just hope I didn't get the cut with the sticky part of the butterfly bandage. I've never used one before, but I have a feeling it will not be the last time, especially with this child.
This was his reaction after taking off the band aid.

Newport Beach

We had a good time at the beach a few weeks ago. Although we almost did not make it, due to the fact that I drove around for over an hour to find a parking spot. Tyson, who left work 45 minutes after we left Upland, got to the beach before I even found a spot to park. We ended up parking about 12-14 blocks away from our destination (we were meeting many friends from Church). By the time I walked 10 block I thought my uterus was going to fall out and I was almost in tears. Tyson was trying to carry everything and Jaxson, but it just was not possible, I had to carry some stuff. Two women praised me for attempting the beach.
Once we got to the beach, I just sat under the umbrella. Jaxson pretty much stayed up with us which I didn't mind. We didn't have to chase after him. You might notice in one of the pictures that Jaxson's eyes are a little swollen, it was because he got sunblock in them. I did not feed him something he should not eat.

I sure hope soon.

Well I'm still pregnant, but I hope to have these two soon. I've not been sleeping well at night which means I'm tired during the day, so when Jax goes down for his naps I often nap too. However, I think these naps might be causing the bad sleep at night. Adison gets the hiccups on a very regular basis which is very irritating since I feel it in my right leg. If you can't tell I'm ready. Although when I say that, I think am I REALLY ready. They are so much easier while inside you, it's when they come out that all the work begins. I am excited to meet my little darlings and I hope they come sooner than later. Two weeks seems too long to me.

34 Weeks

I've had a few requests for belly pictures, so here is the most recent. This picture is a few days shy of 34 weeks.

Just an update on the babies. I went and saw the specialist this morning and everything looks great. Adison has caught up to her brother in weight. She weighs 5 lbs and 5 oz. Last visit she was only 3 lbs and 13 oz. Carson is weighing in at 5 lbs. and 9 oz. Both are healthy. The doctor doesn't even think it is necessary for another visit since I only have 4 more weeks, I will continue the non stress tests til the end.

An Afternoon At Redhill Park

After we tried poisoning our son, we took him to the park. The fresh air really helped his allergies.

Like father like son. We were feeding the ducks, but they didn't seem to interested. After walking around the half the pond we saw a sign that said please don't feed the duck. That would explain why everyone was looking at us.
Sorry the pictures are blurry our lens is dirty.

Why mom why?

Have you seen the move Hitch? Well Jaxson had his Hitch moment on Wednesday. He had eaten noodles from Lasagna twice before with no reaction, so I thought we'd be okay. Well from the pictures you can see we were not. This was with in 10 minutes of eating the food. We quickly did a breathing treatment and gave him Benadryl and it started working with in 30 minutes. Good thing daddy and grandma were with me.

I love strawberries

We had the missionaries over for dinner and Jaxson was being his crazy self. He was just eating okay when I pulled out the strawberry pie I had made. His eyes lit up and he starting saying "bit" over and over again. We gave him a few strawberries and then he wanted to dip them in the whip cream. I really should not have due to his allergy, but I thought we'll try it. Once the whip cream hit his lips that was all he wanted.

Went down a little crazy. He looks like he is surfing the way his hands are.
I really don't like the slide.
Jaxson get off my horse. It's my turn.
I'm so cute.

A Day At The Park With The Bartletts

We had so much fun with Mary and Jack. We swung on the swings and ran all over the Park. Tyson had the day off so he did most of the chasing. We need to get out as much as possible and enjoy this really nice weather while it lasts.

We swing and eat together.

I love the slide. I kept going down over and over again. Jack tried it a couple of times and really did not like it. The second time I put him down he was shaking, it was sad.

The Hospital Must Have Missed Us.

Just when things started to look up I had to go and wreck it. I was thinking man I don't have anything to exciting for the blog this week. I really need to get an edit button. It seems whenever I make comments like this something is bound to happen and yesterday it did.

I was feeling stressed with getting ready for church, getting Jaxson ready for church, and doing sharing time at church. I usually do sharing time without giving it much of a second thought, but for some reason this week it was giving me issues. Thankfully Tyson came home early from his morning meetings which allowed me the extra time to get to the church and pull the pictures I would need for sharing time, thus eliminating a wee bit of stress.

Tyson had to meet with some members from the other ward about Mormon night a Quakes Stadium, so he would not be there in church for the first 15 minutes. As we, Jaxson and I, sat down waiting for church, I placed Jaxson next to me on the bench. He immediately stood up and turning around to see who was behind us. He's been doing this for nine months at least, so I didn't think much of it. I thought I would take this time to organize my self for Primary and the thought came to me wait till Tyson gets back. I ignored that voice from within and started to separate some stickers and what not. Sister Patzold came over to hand me a flyer for this weekends pot luck and then it happened.

I saw Jaxson out of the corner of my eye falling straight backwards off the bench. I tried to catch him, but it was to late. He smacked his head on the wooden Hymnal holder. He was very hurt and I could tell. Well when you see the pictures from the next post you will understand that I could not just bend down and get him. I had to crawl down in between the two benches and pull him out. I was confident I was flashing everyone in the middle section of the Sacrament room, but I didn't care. As soon as I picked him up the blood started rushing down. I knew he would need staples or stitches. I quickly got up, I really did and rushed him out. Tyson was walking down the hall and I told him what happened. There was a lot of blood flowing from two different wounds. I moved his hair back from one wound and it was a good size gap and it confirmed my thoughts about staples. (They now use staples in the head not stitches.) With blood all over my face, I went back to get all our bags from the Sacrament room. We stopped at my parents to see what my mom thought and she agreed that we should go to Urgent Care.

We were in and out with in an hour which was very nice. That was way faster than I thought it would be. Three staples in head we were on our way home. Tyson pinned him to the table while the nurse held his head still. I was standing right there, but when the doctor pulled out the little white staple gun I moved away. I just couldn't see him thrash about and scream in pain. It was very sad. By the time we got back to my parents house, he was just fine and wanted to go out side with Grandpa who was sweeping the pool.

He has recovered really well. We have to go back Tuesday to make sure there is no infection and by Friday the staples will be out. So my "slow week" with only two visits to the hospital has now turned to four.

Before the staples
After the staples, but it looks worse because the doctor couldn't clean it up very well.

Eight Months: Almost Done

When you can barely put your arms under the belly it should be time for the babies to come. Things are good, but I have my bad days where I just don't know how I'm going to go one more day. I've got as much baby in me as I did with Jaxson, but still have five more weeks. However, I've not gained as much weight as I did with Jaxson which is a very good thing. I know for their health they need to stay in a few more weeks, but for my selfish reasons I want to be done. I thought once you become a mom you are no longer selfish?.

Tyson's New Addition

General Confrence was a couple a week away so Tyson knew that he didn't have any meetings to attend. So he decided to grow a beard. He had never done it before and decided this would be the best time to try. This is about a week and a half worth of growth. He was sure to shave it the night before church. I thought it looked nice. What do you think?

Pomona Valley Hospital: My new home away from home.

I started this post last week and I'm just now getting back to it.

4/4/08

So today I went to the specialist to check on the babies and make sure everything is going well. I saw a different doctor today, so some of the concern could be a little over kill; however, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Here is the run down of what happened. First, the nurse who starts off taking the ultra sound kept measuring Adison's belly over and over again. Finally I said "is there a problem?," and she responded "that it's just measuring small that's all." When the doctor comes in he says the same thing and then asks if I've been leaking fluid. Well that was scary and to my knowledge the answer was no. When I hear leaking fluid that is always a bad thing. Basically he said "its not as if we need to go in an take them now, but we need to start watching more closely." Which in turn means I live at Pomona Valley Hospital.

I now go twice a week to have a non stress test. It's really not a big deal, but it stresses me out because until I go I'm worried that something is wrong. Then I go, I feel better wait three days worry all over again. They are testing for heart rates, movement, contractions. Then the do an ultra sound to check the fluids to make sure they are not to low.

ON the up side Adison is 3 lbs 13 oz. with a head measuring oh so big. Both my children will have large heads and will be very disproportionate if they don't start gaining weight in other areas. Carson/Hayden weighs in at 4 lbs. 5 oz and his head is only measuring in the 92 %tile meaning only eight other babies his exact age in the womb have a bigger head. The doctor assured me that it doesn't appear as if there is anything wrong, but he does agree that his head is very large.
