Last week we had our ultra sound, and we are thrilled to announce that we are having a boy and a girl. However, there is still a 20% chance that the girl could turn out to be a boy. We should know more definitively at our next appointment which is at the beginning of February. The doctor was pretty confident, but due to a miss diagnosis and a women crying for three days, he leaves room for the alternative.
The babies both look very healthy and the doctor says there are not signs of down syndrome. However, he did request in February that we have EKG's done on both the babies hearts to make sure all is well. He said it is routine and that we shouldn't worry, so we have not given it a second thought.
We also found out that both babies are weighing in at the same weight and length of a singleton baby. Meaning if a singleton baby at 4 months is 8 inches long and 10 oz, then both our babies are measuring that same size. Basically I'm going to be very large if this is kept up. This is actually really good especially if they are born early. They seem to be a very active and once again as they get bigger my tummy is going to look like a boxing match is taking place.
For the most part I feel good, but I can already tell what should be easy tasks are getting more difficult then they should. Playing with Jaxson on the floor is great, but after a while of playing it's difficult to get up. Standing and cooking then doing the dishes or giving Jaxson a bath is to much at the end of the day. Tyson is being a trooper and helping out a ton. He is currently taking two classes which is taking him away a lot and ward basketball has just begun, so we know what that means.
We are trying to teach Jaxson that mommy has a baby in my belly and we think he might be getting it finally. The other day at grandma and grandpa's he saw a baby on TV and my mom said baby. Jaxson looked at my mom and lifted up his shirt, pointed to his belly, and said baby. My mom thought it could be a fluke, but later on that day he performed the same thing for my dad. My mom said it was so cute. Just for the record, I do NOT lift up my shirt and show Jaxson my belly to demonstrate "baby."

He might have enjoyed you showing him your belly Jenn! hehe I'm so excited for you guys! You are already such a great Mom, and these little babies are so blessed to be coming to you and Tyson. By the way, are you going to do birthing classes? Or did you do them already with Jaxson? I'm looking around for good ones right now, so let me know if you want to join. You, Mary and I should have a pregnant yoga night! Leotards are required! Just kidding!
A boy and girl! That's so exciting! I'll have to start thinking of something cute to knit now...
