Coloring Easter Eggs

Jaxson's first time coloring Easter Eggs.

He was very tired and didn't quite get what we were doing. We colored one egg and went home. We had a long day ahead of us.

Alien Babies

See the baby counter on the left of the blog, some days it feels like that is exactly what they are doing. The movement sometimes makes me feel sick. I especially like when Adison kicks me down low, it feels like nothing I can even describe.

Easter without the Parents

This was one of the first years since being married that we were on our own. My parents went to Sac town to see my brother and his girls, however my sister Shauna and her 3 youngest come down from Idaho.
Well since mom wasn't home that left the cooking to me and Shauna. It's a lot of work. I'm so okay not doing big dinners. As I sat down to eat, Tyson said "is it true what they say about food not being as good when you cook it your self?" I would have to agree, it doesn't taste as good. So sad. I should have taken pictures of my legs from standing so much. For those of you who saw my legs with Jaxson they are starting to look the same, but so much earlier. So sad. I know Tyson loves to make cool shapes in my legs and Taryn gets a good kick out of them too. Sorry but there are no pictures thus far.

My First Hair Cut!

Tony was just the type of guy I envisioned cutting Jaxson's hair for the first time.
We went to down town Upland to a little barber shop, with the barber pole and
everything. Jaxson didn't start off to well, but once he got a sucker
he was just fine. This was his first "true sucker" as well. He'd have licks
from ours, but never his own. By the end, he had hair stuck to the sucker
and his hands were a mess.

Yes mom I do like my sucker very much. More than my new cut.
Some may not even notice he got it cut, but boy what a difference.

This is how I eat bananas

Jaxson really loves bananas. In fact, some days he will eat up to 3 bananas. Now that he eats as many as he does, he has come up with a more efficient way of eating them too.
First break in half.
Second shove the half in the mouth.
Third make sure none falls out and if needed place hand for support.

Fourth store in cheeks while chewing small portions.

Seven Months

Getting Bigger By The Minute!!!

I tried to put a few pictures up, but the internet was not working for me. Today, I wore a dress from my last pregnancy and it was very interesting to see how much bigger I am. I realize it's my second pregnancy and I'm having twins, but I'm looking more at "how I am I going to get bigger." Once I can get the pictures up, I would like your opinion on what you think. I know what I think, but you always think your worse off than you really are.

Back to the hospital

Jaxson had yet another asthma attack which resulted in us starting at urgent care and ending up in the ER. Thank goodness Dr. Gentile has a fail proof way of determining how sick a child is. He gives them food to see how much they will eat. Thankfully he brought Jaxson french fries and he eat the whole plate.
After 3 breathing treatments, they let us go home. We spent a total of 5 hours in the hospital, but at least we didn't have to stay. They did send us home with a nebulizer and we have to do breathing treatments every 4 hours for the next 4 days.

The new car was suppose to be the event of the weekend, but it wasn't. The hospital was.

My Hosptial Stay.

Mommy why do they have me caged. Jaxson was running back in forth in his crib until we put on baby Einstein. Then and only then would he sit down and be calm. He was a good
sport about the whole thing. I was just worried while running and jumping in his crib
he would pull out his IV. That was my biggest fear.
Finally we were transferred to a hospital that had a bed for Jaxson.
This was our ride in the ambulance. He did very well. How many 17 month old
babies have riden in an ambulalnce.

Because of his IV he could not go for walks, so this was the next best thing. Daddy took him for a ride with his IV line and all. He enjoyed his ride alot. He wanted to get out of the "cage" more than I could even imagine.

After 15-20 minutes of struggling with Jaxson to get a line into his dehydrated body, they allowed us to come back into the room. The only thing that finally got him calmed down was reciting Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See. Thank goodness we had it memorized.

The short version of what happened- here we go. Friday night the night we bought the car, my mom watched Jaxson and she told us that he was wheezing when she put him down. This was not uncommon for him, so I didn't think much of it. However, the next morning he was taking very short shallow breaths and was having a very difficult time. We didn't change the car seat over, so I couldn't take him to the doctor and I thought it might get better. Well he wasn't getting better, and I could just see how tired he was so finally by 8:45 PM I called Tyson to come home from a ward activity. Jaxson had fallen asleep for about one hour when we took him in.

I made my mistake taking him to an ER without a pediatric wing. I was so upset I wasn't thinking clearly. On the other hand they got him in right away. We waited about ten minutes. The nurse was not liking how he was breathing and took us right back to see the doctor. As mentioned before due to dehydration the IV was a nightmare. Jaxson is so strong a nurse had to lie on top of him to hold him down while the other nurse tried to find a vein.

They took a chest x-ray and it appeared that it could be pneumonia, and his breathing treatments helped, but not enough. We would be admitted. The problem was that within a 30-50 mile radius there were no rooms for children, so we slept in the ER of San Dimas. Good times. Jaxson slept Tyson and I did not. By 4:45 am I was so exhausted I texted Tyson, who was trying to sleep in the new van, to come in. I took off to home to get a few hours of sleep. I have to worry about the babies as well.

By afternoon they had us at Pomona Valley Hospital where we shared the room with another little girl with pneumonia. They were LDS too. We stayed one more night and were released on Monday afternoon. He still is wheezing, but the medication they gave seems to be helping.
Jaxson was so thrilled to be home. He was very very tired when we got home and fell asleep on the way home, but once we got home there was no way he was going into the "cage". He played, took a bath, and fell asleep for two hours. Thank goodness we are home in our own beds tonight.

Our Eventful Weekend!

Our new Car.

We had planned on getting a used van just because of the cost, but when a dealership called to tell us some 2007 cars had 0% interest it peaked my interest. I gave them a call and in fact, it was a great deal. I called my dad to come with me because Tyson was at work and I didn't want to go by myself. Plus, my dad doesn't mess around when it comes to buying cars.

However, for the record I did the deal all my self and he told me as he left the dealership that I finagled great deal. It made me feel good, but all I really did was not understand how they were coming up with the numbers, so they had to go back and forth three or four times. Finally Tyson go to the dealership, and they came with numbers that looked better. They explained to Tyson how they were coming up with the numbers and he said it made scene to him, so we did it and drove home a new van.

Bath Time with Daddy!

With mommy getting bigger it is getting harder to do bath time, so Daddy has taken over bath time. This is what Daddy does with bath time. This is their fun time. Jaxson stays in his bath for at least thirty minutes. Do yo think it is time for a first hair cut yet? Dad says yes, but I say not it still makes him look like he's a baby.

I've been tagged

A: The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.B: Each player answers the questions about themselves.C: At the end of the post, the player then tags 3 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

10 years ago today...
I was living in Utah on my own for the first time. I would imagine I had class and was working. I lived at the Raintree apartments in Provo. Other than that, thats all I can remember.

5 things on my to-do list today:
1. Go buy new pants at Motherhood Maternity. A girl at the doctors office told me about them. And yes they are the most comfortable pairs I own. So pregnant friends if your interested I tell you what they are.
2. Clean my bed room
3. update my blog
4. Take borrowed toys back to Whitney
5. Take a nap

I enjoy:
Taking naps while Jaxson sleeps. During his morning nap this is my time to do with how I choose. Often I will read two talks from last Novembers Ensign, yes I have not finished yet. Then if I'm feeling tired I will roll over and sleep for twenty minutes or until Jaxson wakes up. Or, I will read my book. Tyson bought me five books for Christmas and I'm down to the last one, they are part of a serious from Harlan Coban.

What would I do if I were suddenly made a billionaire?
First I would hire a maid to clean my house. Cleaning has never been one of my favorite things to do, but I love a clean house. Go figure. Second I would buy a house in California and in Utah, so both sets of Grandparents could share the babies. Third help my family with what needs they might have. Fourth give money to the Church. Fifth invest for the future, you never know what can happen. Sixth buy the nursery I've always wanted especially with twins on the way.

3 of my bad habits:
1. I keep clutter on the computer desk and near my bed.
2. I've been eating to much fast food due to work and being hungry at work
3. I love sugar

5 places I have lived:
1. Upland CA.
2. Provo UT
3. 3 cities in Minnesota serving a mission
4. one summer in Idaho Falls ID.
5. there is not a 5th

5 jobs that I have had:
1. Kessler Insurance
2. A nanny
3. Sears repair center
4. National School Fitness Foundation
5. Sylvan

5 things people don't know about me:
1. I'm an open book

I tag
Whitney, Amy Rambow, Sarah Jackson

Let the pain begin

So on Wednesday, Tyson and I went to the specialist for the month visit. We had a fetal EKG and everything looked good. However, he did inform me that I still have placenta previa which means I can't even try a natural birth. He said it doesn't look like it's going to move either. So I already started to prepare myself for the C-section. I guess it's better for the twins anyways.

After that appointment we met with a different doctor with lots of waiting in between. There is always a tech in the room before the doctor comes in to make sure everything is ready and working. Her first comment was it's fun to see such big twins this early in the pregnancy, I'm used to seeing them so much smaller. Tyson and I just just laughed. She was not the first tech to say this to us, as we've been going for three months now.

Once the doctor came in she started all the measurements and everything looks good. Two healthy little, yet big babies. There is for sure one girl and one boy. As she continued with the measurements, she made a comment about baby boys tummy being big, naturally I asked is that okay. She then told me his belly is measuring in the 75th percentile. Now working at Sylvan has taught me that this means only 25 out of 100 babies would have a bigger tummy. So I thought, wow thats good and bad. Then my dear loving husband who doesn't have to carry the children asked "well what about his head." The doctor laughed a little and said "we don't have to talk about that." I responded with "what does that mean, is his head really big." And just like that she said "yes and his head is measuring in the 85th percentile." BOOM, a C-section is now looking much better. In addition, both babies heads are down, thus I've been experiencing A LOT of pressure.

Now it may seem like I'm complaining, but really I'm just thankful that both babies are healthy and there are no complications. By having both babies so big it will just decrease their chances for having to be in the NICU. Baby boy is 1 pound 5 ounces and Baby girl is 1 pound 4 ounces (and her head is normal sized 46th percentile) and both are 11 inches long.

Top Picture: This is both heads next to each other. Since both are so big this is the only way we can show them together. It is the tops of their heads.

Bottome Picture: This is a side profile of Baby Boy. We can't get a good one of Baby Girl she is quite shy.

First Snow!

This last weekend we went to Utah for Tyson's grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. It was really nice. It was very touching watching Grandma and Grandpa Broderick. After 50 years, you could still see the love, respect, and devotion they have towards one another. They had asked a family friend to sing a few songs for them. He sings with Mo Tab and has a wonderful tenor voice. He sang a song from Les Miserable and I got very teary eyed. As I said before, it was very percious watching the Broderick's.
We had a great time even though it did snow the whole time we were there. Jaxson didn't love the snow, but he loved Tobie, the Brodericks dog. Jaxson went on a four wheel ride with his Aunt Chelsea through the snow. He really didn't have much of a reaction he just sat there.
Tyson really wanted Jaxson to love the snow, but as you can see that
was not really how he felt. He got the snow in his shoes
and his feet got wet and that was the end of the fun. He
also tried to feed him snow, Jaxson didn't bite. Smart kid. He takes after his mom.

Great picture of mom and Jaxson. Me with no make up on. Man we are white.

This picture was Tyson's idea. He wanted a picute of them together with their foot

prints behind them. It was cute. Plus it's a good picture of Tyson's butt. We only lasted

about 10 minutes in the cold weather.

Rock On!

I love Uncle Matt's drums.
Great Grandma and Grandpa Broderick came all the way from Utah for a vacation
and they came to see us. Jaxson went running into the drum room to show
off his mad skills in playing the drums. I think he is pretty good,
but I'm also mom. Everytime I would say "rock on" he would lift the sticks
as pictured above. I don't know how he knew to do that since we'd never
said that before. It was perfectly pictured by grandma.

Dad was so proud of his little drummer.

Movie Time!

Tyson and I finally made time for ourselves and went to the movies. We went with the Bartlett's and some of their friends. We went and saw Juno. I really liked it. I was laughing really hard at times. Of course, since it is about a pregnant women and child birth, Mary and I found ourselves crying as well. Great range of emotions. I would recommend seeing it; although, there were a couple of comments or statements I could have lived without. If you've already seen it, what did you think about it?

Lookn' good!

Five Months Pregnant.

I can't believe that it has already been five months.

I'm sure feeling it though. I went to the doctor this week

and the babies are still growing at normal pace which will make

them about 6 or 7 pounds if all goes well.

Even though I feel mighty big, two women from church just today told me

that they didn't even know I was pregnant let alone pregnant with twins.

That made me feel really good. However I'm starting to get big quick.

Jaxson found a new way to play with his train. I was sitting on the floor with him and not realizing what he was doing until he was already standing in the train. Once he got out, it was all about getting back in, he was having a hard time and didn't want any help. My little independent man.

We have recently discovered that Jaxson LOVES Baby Einstein. I never really wanted to place my child in front of the TV and let him go, but sometimesI got to get stuff done. This is my time. He now pulls out all the DVDs lookingfor the white cases. Yes he knows which ones he wants and the rest get tossed aside. Every once in awhile, he will find his blanket which is kept in his bed. When this happenshe doesn't have a care in the world unless you step in front of the TV and he will move his body in order to see again. So much for saying I don't want my kid to be hooked to a TV program.

Look how cute

I'm a little slow

I'm such a nerd.
I could end right there, but no one would know why. When I go to my blog I don't look to see that I have comments. I just read all my comments that have been left throughout my blog. Thank you for your comments and thus I'm a nerd. Have a great week.

One of Each

Last week we had our ultra sound, and we are thrilled to announce that we are having a boy and a girl. However, there is still a 20% chance that the girl could turn out to be a boy. We should know more definitively at our next appointment which is at the beginning of February. The doctor was pretty confident, but due to a miss diagnosis and a women crying for three days, he leaves room for the alternative.
The babies both look very healthy and the doctor says there are not signs of down syndrome. However, he did request in February that we have EKG's done on both the babies hearts to make sure all is well. He said it is routine and that we shouldn't worry, so we have not given it a second thought.
We also found out that both babies are weighing in at the same weight and length of a singleton baby. Meaning if a singleton baby at 4 months is 8 inches long and 10 oz, then both our babies are measuring that same size. Basically I'm going to be very large if this is kept up. This is actually really good especially if they are born early. They seem to be a very active and once again as they get bigger my tummy is going to look like a boxing match is taking place.
For the most part I feel good, but I can already tell what should be easy tasks are getting more difficult then they should. Playing with Jaxson on the floor is great, but after a while of playing it's difficult to get up. Standing and cooking then doing the dishes or giving Jaxson a bath is to much at the end of the day. Tyson is being a trooper and helping out a ton. He is currently taking two classes which is taking him away a lot and ward basketball has just begun, so we know what that means.
We are trying to teach Jaxson that mommy has a baby in my belly and we think he might be getting it finally. The other day at grandma and grandpa's he saw a baby on TV and my mom said baby. Jaxson looked at my mom and lifted up his shirt, pointed to his belly, and said baby. My mom thought it could be a fluke, but later on that day he performed the same thing for my dad. My mom said it was so cute. Just for the record, I do NOT lift up my shirt and show Jaxson my belly to demonstrate "baby."

Merry Christmas from the Brodericks

A visit from Mendy and Madilynn

My First BYU football game!

The Broderick's came down to San Diego for the last game of the season. Grandpa bought me my first jersey too. It was a little big, but with my big coat underneath I looked like I could be on the field playing. Aunt Chelsea sure loves kissing and hugging me.
Don't I look great!

We are winning. Just the way Grandpa likes it.
Bring the win.

Jaxson loves loves loves being out side with Grandpa. I'm starting to think that he enjoys being with Grandpa Ellis more than mom and dad. I tell myself it's because Grandpa takes him out side whenever he grabs his hat even if it is dark and cold outside.
Tyson caught the perfect moment to describe how Jaxson feels when he is outside.
He also loves to do what Grandpa does. Grandpa spends hours and hours out at the pool. Where most people have a pool service not Bob Ellis, he does it himself. He sweeps the deck often and Jaxson sees him doing that, so he'll grab the broom and try to help. Whatever Grandpa does Jaxson does too. It's very cute and it tickles Grandpa.

Jax at the Zoo

Jax went to the zoo over Thanksgiving time with his cousins for the first time. He was enjoying it in his stroller, but once he got out there was no turning back. He could see the animals so much better when he was up over the gate. He liked the chimpanzees the very best. He watched them swing from tree to tree and was so pleased with their movement.
Cousin Jason was nice enough to carry me on his shoulders. He got to the point where he was almost falling asleep using his head as a pillow. Good times!
The lions were so beautiful sitting in the sun.

It's Twins for the Broderick's

Yes it is true we will be having twins next year (2008). Their due date is June 6, 2008, but most likely they will come in May. That is what we are hoping for. We wont find out until after the first of the year whether they are boys girls or one of each. They are fraternal which means they each have their own sac and placenta and this is very good.

We are very excited and even more scared. Our lives will be turned upside down for a good 6 months after they are born, so if you need a baby fix please come and visit. We wanted to share this very exciting news with all of you and would love to hear your reactions, so please email or make comments on the blog.
